Today, I played around with foil reflections. The bright red color of the little strawberries looked so pretty against the silvery gray ground. Their values just popped.

Hey, Where Did Everyone Go?
As I was squinting at this painting -- concentrating on my values -- I picked up, what I thought was my coffee cup, but it was, in fact, my jar of mineral spirits. Fortunately, I realized my mistake before any chemicals were ingested. Can you imagine explaining that to the ER doc? Ah, Mondays. Hope yours was a good one!

Unlikely Companions
I have to say, I love black gesso. This was my first experience with it, and although I wish that I would have left more of the dark ground exposed, I really enjoyed painting on it. I can't wait to try it again.
Have a great day, everyone!

Blue Shadows
After several days of beautiful weather, it has been cold and blustery today. I was able to paint, but I didn't attempt any outdoor photography in the wind. This painting was my warm-up for last Thursday.
Speaking of warming up, I'm going to snuggle up in my favorite chair and read. I hope you're all having a great weekend!

Green on Blue
I'm trying to get back into the swing of painting today. Granny Smith apples are my creative "comfort" food, and these were painted on a red-orange ground. The little bowl is a thrift store treasure.
I hope you're all having a great week!

Forsythia
After two days away from painting, my brushes felt like foreign objects today. However, you can't be around forsythia and not be in great spirits. Along with the wild plum bushes, our forsythia bloomed this week. I have a bouquet of cut branches in my kitchen, and they smell so heavenly. Spring is here.
I won't be able to post (or paint) for the next couple of days, but I hope to be back by mid-week. See you soon!

Teacup Tomatoes
These little cherry tomatoes were fun to paint! The tablecloth isn't quite this blue, but overall, I'm happy with the image. At least, the glare is down to a minimum. I'm still photographing my paintings outside, but I'm thinking of purchasing a light cube to simply things. If anyone has experience with them or any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Tie-Dyed Teapot
This is my entry for this week's Daily Paintworks challenge. Since beginning my daily painting journey, I've learned a lot about myself. One, my taste in dishware is too fussy. And two, my taste in fabric is too plain. I strugged to find a simple, white object and a brightly patterned cloth. In the end, the teapot was a $3 find at a local thrift shop, and the fabric is one of Rodeo's bandanas. You know what they say about necessity? It's true!

Strawberry Blossom
Strawberries and daisies and sunshine. Oh my! I love this time of year. Happy Spring!

Lazy Daisy
I feel a little bit like this daisy today. Lazy. Sunday afternoons are wonderful, aren't they?
After several weeks of feeling under the weather, it feels good to be painting again. I've really missed it. And all of you. I hope you're having a great weekend!
