Starting Line-up

I had such fun with this painting, but the photographing of it, well, not so much.  Please forgive the glare. As I work from a very limited palette already, the glazing process was very simple.  I only used ultramarine blue and alizarin crimson.

I've been organizing my office/studio today.  The beautiful weather has me in the mood for Spring cleaning.  So, I had better get busy again!

I hope you're all having a great week!

You've made this luminous painting more than lemons!! It is spectacular! To me it says you can be whatever you want to be ,there is no limit.I am in love with this piece, its shockingly inspirational.

You are so sweet, Azra. Thank you for your very kind and encouraging words. I appreciate them. And you!

Again, I apologize for the poor image quality. I could not get rid of the glare or the blue cast to it. Dark backgrounds are above my photographic skill level, lol.

So beautiful Darla, I love it! I love the reflection of the lemons against the dark table...great contrast.

This is really beautiful, Darla. it has a very ethereal feeling. gorgeous colors. I have never done glazing, but if this is the end result, it is a must! Have you taken a Dreama Tolle Perry workshop or have you always used transparent colors?

Darla McDowell said...

Thank you, Gloria. No, I haven't taken a workshop from Dreama yet, but I would love to! Her paintings are so beautiful. I have used transparent colors to glaze in the past, and I am currently experimenting with using a transparent underpainting.

Thank you again for your kind comments. :)
