I purchased this little pottery bowl on our recent trip to Maui. We spent one day driving the scenic road to Hana, and I found it in one of the small villages along the way. The beautiful cobalt glaze reminds me of the white-capped waves of the northern shore.
I finished painting just before sunset this evening. The background may be a bit too dark, but I like the twilight feel of it. Dusk is my favorite time of day. So peaceful.

Thank you, Kari! It was one of the few things that I bought, but I couldn't resist it. ;)
I am still thinking about the antique shop in Virginia Beach. I wish I had bought a few of those things!!!
Beautiful painting Darla, I love the wood piece the bowl sits on, you painted both beautifully!
How do you do these paintings? This is incredible..you make the most simple thing come to magical life!
Thank you, Karen! My husband brought the wood home to me. It is a piece of an old fence post. It was so fun to paint!
