I'm preparing to paint my studio in a few weeks, so I'm experimenting with possible color choices. This color -- used as the background -- is Sand Dollar by Sherwin-Williams. I would like to simplify my still life set up and stop using fabrics for my backgrounds. So, painting the walls a neutral shade seems the best option. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Darla, I've been doing a lot of thinking about studio wall color lately, since we will be building. Here are a few sights to check out. I hope you find then helpful.

Your painting is exquisite, as always!
Linda came through with a wonderful answer.....I love the color of your background and the grapes are fantastic! Beautiful work.
Thank you so much for the information, Linda. I so enjoyed reading both articles, and they have given me so much food for thought. I really appreciate it!
I agree, Hilda. Linda has great ideas, doesn't she. I sure appreciate getting input for you both.
Thanks so much, ladies!
Beautiful painting Darla and I think that background color is great! I heard that grey is the way to go for studio's...I'll be interested to find out what you decide, my walls are still off white!
Those grapes are stunning Darla and I love the background colour too!!
Studio colour is difficult question....I think it would be fun to paint a different colour on each wall so you would have a choice. I would have magnolia, grey,a pale turquoise, and a terracotta.
Oh, Azra, what a fun idea! I have different shades of grey painted on my wall now. I'm trying to decide on the right value. It is amazing how the color changes throughout the day. Thanks so much for your help!
I love the idea of grey walls, Karen! It is my favorite neutral right now. Thanks so much for your kind words and your input. I appreciate it!
